Discuss the role of EBP in your specialty area of practice. Compare and contrast the role and implementation of EBP in your specialty with another advanced registered nurse specialty.

The provision of safe medical services is at the core of the strategies for various healthcare organizations. Many healthcare firms are relying on evidence-based tools to achieve quality of care and patient safety. Evidence-based practice plays a critical role of ensuring that patient care is current and based on recent and justifiable data.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) has been used in different ways to facilitate improved clinical outcomes for the patient. Evidence-based practice plays a significant role in enhancing the effective in helping the patient by facilitating recent literature backed by credible scientific research (Muir, 2019). EBP plays a significant role of informing current practice in my specialty of care thus facilitating the provision of quality care that guarantees patient safety. EBP also pays a significant role in improving the patient’s clinical outcomes by helping the healthcare providers to integrate theory and research in care planning. The integration of theory and research to nursing practice helps enhance the offered services and enhance knowledge. Topic 1: Evidence-Based Practice

The role and implementation of EBP could differ in a setting of nursing research where ethical and data collection tools are more useful. EBP has also been used to facilitate effective decision-making within the purview of collaborative practice. Ethical decision-making is a significant initiative where healthcare professionals are presented with legal and ethical scenarios involved in their practice and how to mitigate the risks within the purview of EBP (Wolstenholme, 2015). The initiative can enhance the delivery of care to patients by ensuring that healthcare professionals practice within the scope of current laws and practice scope. EBP for practicing healthcare professionals and implementing ethical decision-making tools are two initiatives that ensure that healthcare professionals practice within the purview of EBP and current research.
