I agree with you that a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system at the local level when planning to implement EBP is important since so many factors such as the organizational culture and the leadership influence the successful implementation of the EBP change.  For example, resistance to change among nurses can hinder successful implementation, while skilled and more educated nurses such as nurse practitioners have been shown to support EBP initiatives (Mathieson et al., 2019). Other local factors that influence the implementation of EBP include the availability of local resources such as adequate funding and human capital. The Strengths and Challenges of Implementing EBP Essay.  It is thus important to consider if there is available human capital such as adequate healthcare personnel like advanced practice nurses with adequate skills to support effective implementation of EBP initiative. Moreover, it is important to consider the organizational structure at the local level as it plays an important role in promoting the successful implementation of EBP initiatives. It is interesting to note your argument about the impact of transformational leadership in influencing the successful implementation of EBP. This is due to the ability of transformational leadership to inspire and motivate people to support EBP changes (Moon et al., 2019).

I also agree with you that the availability of adequate resources and staff facilitate the effective implementation of EBP. In your organization, this can be addressed by persuading the organizational leadership to consider recruiting more personnel and always allocating adequate resources to support EBP initiatives (Warren et al., 2016). It is important to understand the health care system at the local level to consider when planning an EBP implementation. It is very important to know the culture of the organization because it will affect whether or not the EBP change is supported. Multihospital healthcare system leaders and individual nurses are challenged to integrate standardized evidence-based practices that support continuous performance improvement in their systems. Nurses are always in favor of EBP but struggle with the barriers to implementation. Magnet RN’s reported more resources and held more positive beliefs about their hospital’s organizational readiness for EBP. The Strengths and Challenges of Implementing EBP Essay. Nurses who possess advanced nursing degrees, certification, and who serve in leadership roles were favorable toward EBP. Graduate RN’S with fewer years in practice were more likely to have positive beliefs toward EBP and embedding it into the organizational culture. Locally, transformational nurse leaders within each hospital can share the vision for implementing EBP and embrace Magnet principles (Warren et. al,2016).
The institution where I work is a Magnet hospital where most of the nurses and health care workers value the importance of EBP. But the challenges are the limited resources and the staff. When there are sufficient staff and resources, I think it is easier to implement evidence-based practices.
