Policy/Regulation Fact Sheet

The policy selected for this task is the 21st Century Cures Act, which was passed into law on December 13, 2016. This policy seeks to enhance health care by discussing concerns such as the usage of electronic health reports, the exchange of details, the improvement in the quality of prescriptions for pharmaceuticals, and the introduction of telehealth facilities (Gabay, 2017). This paper aims to examine the effect of the 21st Century Cures Act on the implementation of the system and treatment, interactions and workflow, and to define practices in my workplace that are important to the policy.Policy/Regulation Fact Sheet.

Impact of the Policy on System Implementation

The 21st Century Cures Act influences the application of the program by promoting the dissemination of information. This lays out a range of provisions for whether to exchange data for clinical usage and study purposes. For instance, it requires the issuing of confidentiality certificates to enhance information sharing (Majumder et al., 2017).Policy/Regulation Fact Sheet.

Impact of the Policy on Care, Interactions, and Workflow

Policy improves efficiency and quality of treatment by increasing the dissemination of data. Interactions amongst healthcare professionals have been improved via the Data Sharing Framework (Gabay, 2017). Information sharing further improves the workflow, since data is rendered easily accessible to the parties concerned.

Organizational Policies and Procedures in Place at My Place of Work

Programs designed to help the policy at my workplace also include color labeling of drugs to minimize medication mistakes, and the usage of EHRs to monitor and access client records (Nelson and Staggers, 2016). The 21st Century Cures Act improves clinical benefits by directing data collection, offering reliable statistics on medications, and promoting the use of technologies in healthcare settings.Policy/Regulation Fact Sheet.
