Elevator Pitch

My name is Lily Akujobi, I am a registered nurse and can help our organization increase revenue by investing in mechanical ventilators.  The aging population is expected to triple between the year 2020 to 2050 to reach 426 million (WHO, 2022). The world is still recovering from the pandemic and there is a possibility of worse viral diseases occurring in the future, having mechanical ventilators with experienced and well-trained staff will help provide quality patient care as the healthcare need arises.  Respiratory care for the critically ill is a complex and difficult task (Cerqueira Batista Filho, 2022). Demand in healthcare currently is more than supply and this is expected to increase. Expanding our mechanical ventilator numbers is a win-win for everyone. It is not only beneficial to our organization but also to the community as there will be a creation of more jobs and known solutions to respiratory and other healthcare issues. Mechanical ventilators aid in recovery by providing stability to patients while they undergo treatments for their illnesses (Cleveland Clinic, 2019).

Hello Lily Akujobi. I have received your discussion post on the Elevator speech. I agree with your definition and introductory statement of an elevator speech. Additionally, I can define an elevator pitch as a quick approach to introduce oneself, make one or two significant points, and establish a rapport with another (Middleton, 2020).

Your discussion indicated that you are a registered nurse willing to help your organization boost revenue by investing in mechanical ventilators. By its definition, I understand mechanical ventilators as a device that assists a patient in breathing when they are undergoing surgery or are unable to breathe by themselves due to severe disease. I agree with you that the machine might help in increasing revenue. According to Gershengorn et al. (2021), mechanical ventilators will be in high demand as research shows that the aging population will triple to 426 million. I also concur with you that the world might experience a pandemic in the coming future. Thus, a mechanical ventilator might be essential.
