Survey Techniques For Nursing Studies Assignment

Thank you for the post. My colleague has mentioned that they will be utilizing pre-post design for their practicum. I support the use of pre-post design because it is useful in testing the effects of an intervention on a given sample. According to Whitehead et al. (2020), pe-post design is commonly used in health service research and implementation studies, where the intervention is focused at the facility or service level. The pre-post design is most regularly utilized in studying the effectiveness of educational programs or the implementation of behavioral interventions. . in nursing research design, the pre-post design is most frequently utilized in evaluating educational programs. However, the lack of a control group and randomization implies that the confounding variables are not accounted for which substantially retracts the internal validity of the studies Survey Techniques For Nursing Studies Assignment
My colleague has mentioned that they will be using pre-post surveys to gather information such as attitudes and opinions from students on what they know about the topic. My colleague can use different methods to administer the survey including web-based and handed out surveys. Cooner and Lemonde (2019) posit that web surveys utilize ab online platforms while handed out surveys are paper-based. Most researchers prefer hosting the survey on a website for ease of both data collection and access. Online platforms tend to utilize quantitative questions, which are easy to answer and also do not need a great deal of thought. When using a handed survey, physically handing the survey out is a perfect of delivering the survey. Also, the physical presence of the researcher during the survey to explain the aim of the research and directly answer questions would be important. Survey Techniques For Nursing Studies Assignment

Descriptive studies can be purely descriptive, or they can be comparative. In nursing literature there are two commonly types of descriptive designs and one of them is the pre-post design (Siedlecki, 2020). I will be utilizing this design for my practicum. Pre-post surveys are a great evaluation tool because the information can be deciphered by using inferential statistics. Inferential statistics is the practice of using data to draw a conclusion or make a prediction off a sample. Statistical inference is a thought experiment, describing the predictive performance of models about reality (Amrhein et al., 2018). Survey Techniques For Nursing Studies Assignment
Pre-post surveys can use either observation or survey data (Siedlecki, 2020). I will be using a survey which allows the instructor to create questions to elicit information from the students. This method is useful because the researcher can gather information on perceptions, beliefs, attitudes, and opinions and can be administrated in person, over the phone, written, or electronic (Siedlecki, 2020). The reason that this works well for me is that I want to do a case study at the end of clinical to assess student learning on a topic. Before clinical starts I can administer a pre-survey to see what information the students know about the topic. Then in post conference as a group we will workthrough the case study and find a soluation. Then I will pass out the post-survey. Survey Techniques For Nursing Studies Assignm

original question is: Describe how to choose an evaluation strategy based on the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. In Topic 9, you will create a lesson plan to implement at your practicum site. Describe three evaluation strategies that you could implement and explain why they are a good fit for the practicum setting.
