In this Discussion, you examine a national healthcare issue and consider how that issue may impact your work setting. You also analyze how your organization has responded to this issue. Reduced workforce productivity is a current health problem under review. It is worth noting that demotivated and frustrated staff members or employees are the primary reason for lack of service quality. This problem is exacerbated by the tension that healthcare workers face amid burnout. Low workforce productivity has deeply affected all attempts made by healthcare providers to guarantee a comprehensive approach to evidence-based healthcare services for patients.


Pressure and burnout of healthcare professionals is a big problem that has hindered improved patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs (Hall et al., 2016). The astonishing increase of burn-out of healthcare professionals has led to severe issues in the healthcare system. As such, the quality of healthcare has been impacted, the rate of turnover escalated, the risk of suicide, resulting in the loss of individuals’ lives (Rodrigues et al., 2017).

Various healthcare facilities have hired more nursing staff and merited a thorough scheme to focus on improving nurses’ decreased exhaustion and burnout. Because of this, the health system should ensure that the nursing staff is constantly subjected to induction and training programs in order to improve their knowledge and skills (Buchan et al., 2015). Inherently hardworking healthcare professionals should be provided with intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Those employees should be compensated for upholding the real spirit and optimism towards employment. This will indicate that staff is empowered to deliver excellent health services with a great deal of commitment and loyalty. The health system will also reduce fatigue and burn-out by strengthening the management approach, creating flexibility in recruitment, implementing the health information systems framework, and centralizing the welfare of the employees.
