The impact of HIPAA policies on system implementation.
The HIPAA policy protects individual patient privacy at different levels. Hefley (2022) note that any form of breach of individual healthcare data affects patients and their families personally and socially. These breaches can have significant financial implications for both Wall Street and healthcare investors. Implementing the policy requires the involvement of artificial intelligence and machine learning in anonymizing the healthcare genomic data while simultaneously preventing any form of leakage in sensitive data.
Impact of HIPAA policies on clinical care, patient/provider interactions, and workflow.
The HIPAA policies protect the interactions and workflow of the patient and the care provider. The seven habits’ structure ensures that HIPAA requirements are followed when providing healthcare services and workflow. These seven habits include; documenting the policy and controlling its environment, allocating the right oversight for compliance, training, and communication to ensure compliance, regular auditing and monitoring, regular screening of personnel, and preventing as well as responding to gaps and other incidents (Bell, 2018, May).
Organizational policies and procedures put in place to address HIPAA policies
My organization has implemented some organizational policies to address HIPAA, beginning with its documentation. This includes taking actions, for example, training and employing private officers in case there is any form of breaching (Bergren et al., 2020). The officers employed will have to familiarize themselves with the HIPAA policies. Another policy is the regular assessment of risks to detect and fix any vulnerabilities (Sweeney, 2017).
