There are a range of criteria that can be applied to evaluate a theory. However, the more appropriate approach for evaluating how a theory interacts with personal beliefs and current practice would be one that links the theory to specific changes. In this case, the focus would be on the assumptions behind the theory and how it is intended to work. For that matter, it would address the traditional evaluation questions about to what extent and whether the theory is useful in terms of impacting personal beliefs and current practice. The assumption made is that the theory is selected on the basis of personal views and information sources (Butts & Rich, 2018).
