Therapy

Both clients participated in the group process. However, the first client was actively involved in the therapy and would watch the video and would actively listen throughout the video. The video was very informative and educative and the first client proposed that he would continue working to stop the use of both opioids and amphetamine. However, the second client appeared disinterested in the therapy and group process. For example, during the therapy session, his affect was despondent, and did not take part in the group proves. He also seemed distracted and occupied with other things during the therapy session. He did not comment and was not interested in the discussed topics. His only notable commend was towards the end of the therapy. However, the client promised that he would continue working on his treatment plan and goals to prevent relapse.Psychotherapy With Groups And Families Essay.

Legal and/or Ethical Implications Related to Counseling Clients

Legal and ethical factors relevant when counseling individuals consist of; obtaining informed consent from all clients prior to starting the therapyand respecting the confidentiality, and privacy of the clients (Bellesheim, 2016). Before starting the therapy, the counselor should ensure that informed consent is obtained from both clients and makes sure that their participation in the therapy is voluntary without any coercion. It is also essential for the counselor to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of the clients are maintained. For example, any information that the clients reveal about the use of the opioids and amphetamine should be kept confidential and should not be disclosed to any other person without the consent of the clients. (Bellesheim, 2016). Moreover, since maintaining confidentiality in group therapy may be a challenge, it is important for the members of the group to be educated about the expected privacy and confidentiality and to sign that they will abide by the group rules.Psychotherapy With Groups And Families Essay.

The diagnoses of the first client are opioid use disorder, severe, and amphetamine-type, severe; while the diagnosis for the second client is amphetamine-type, severe. Both clients participated in the same group therapy. It is important to ensure that informed consent is obtained before the therapy and confidentiality and privacy of the clients are protected.Psychotherapy With Groups And Families Essay.
