Part II: Data Collection Plan

Newly hired nurses have unique learning needs and a strategy developed to gather this data is a mixed-methods approach. This approach incorporates both qualitative and quantitative techniques. In this particular case, an assessment was administered through an online survey platform which has the unique benefit of ease of access to many of these target nurses and completion convenience. Primarily, the survey was a combination of open-ended and closed-ended questions modeled to capture an in-depth understanding of the current knowledge, skills, and experiences related to medication administration and safety this target demographic had.
