Life expectancy at birth is considered to be one of the most important indicators, which is used to analyze human population. Various international organizations create list of countries according to which it is possible to analyze population of each country. In terms of this work we would like to analyze two countries in the list created by Central Intelligence Agency. Japan ranks in the top ten countries and occupies the 5th position. On the contrary, Zimbabwe ranks in the bottom ten and occupies 215th position. The difference between two countries is striking.

In accordance with recent statistical data, average Japanese person lives till 82-83 years. Many leading specialists suggest that such tendency can be explained by healthy habits of the nation. First of all, specialists underline Japanese tradition to eat a lot of rice and fish. Such kind of nutrition is rather dietary and can contribute to long and healthy life of Japanese citizens. Fertility rates in Japan are relatively low and the same can be said about mortality rates. At present time median age of an average Japanese is about 44-45 years old.
Zimbabwe is among those countries, which have extremely low life expectancy rate. In accordance with CIA’s list, this indicator makes up approximately 49 years. Although the country is at the bottom of the list, it is crucial to note that life expectancy rate is now much better than a few years ago, when it made up 42 years. Leading specialists suggest that there are several key factors, which affect tragically population of Zimbabwe. In general, it is economy of the country and spread of diseases including AIDS/HIV.
