Notes: Mrs. Easly is a nurse educator at my place of employment. She received her Masters from Walden University. She applies her education degree and the knowledge she obtained from Walden University to her work skills which makes her a phenomenal nurse educator. She spoke so well of Walden University and the support Walden gives their students it inspired me to research Walden for my Master’s in education. According to a couple of faulty members at Walden, it is a nurse educator shortage and it has created challenges. Dr. Hvingelby says higher educator pay and smaller teacher-to-student ratios will make training new nurses more attractive to clinicians. (Walden 2018). Mrs. Easly encouraged me to attend Walden for my Masters of Education, she informed me that she will be my mentor and guide to help me be successful. Notes: I selected Walden University to help with my success in the MSN program because of its abundance of resources that they have to help me to succeed. My MSN will be in Nursing Education which I choose because I want to teach aspiring nurses and to train fellow colleagues. An MSN in nursing education academically prepares nurses for roles as academic nurse educators, patient educators, or nurse professional developers in healthcare settings (Walden 2020). Walden has many venues for me to utilize towards success of my MSN of Nursing Education and I will use their university writing lab, library, and tutoring resources if needed.

Notes: I currently work in the emergency department and I often utilize the resources to help educate me on some clinical situations. I will continue to use the same resources to obtain the information needed for me to succeed in the MSN of Nursing education program at Walden University. There are many medical professionals in the emergency department. I can gain knowledge from physician, NPs, registered nurses, social works and physician assistance. They are very knowledgeable and are willing to educate anyone. In the article by Schmidt, professional networks can be as authentic and natural as we perceive social networks to be. After all, the relationships you build with classmates, workplace colleagues, and professional association members are certainly authentic. (Schmidt 2019).

Notes: An academic network I will use is the Emergency Nurse Association. ENA is an essential resource for Emergency room nurses and because my focus is to be an educator in the emergency room, I plan to use ENA for constant updates with new practices. ENA states, given the nurse’s central role in patient care, maintaining current knowledge of trends and advancements is imperative (ENA 2022). The relationship between academic integrity and writing is extended through the elements of honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, respect, together with accountability aligned with courage. Honesty is reflective of the baseline aspect of genuineness for extending attribution commendation to the person who delivered the work outcomes (Cutri et al., 2021). Trust is descriptive of the baseline aspect of being reliable in academic-founded work that helps facilitate in-depth purity. Fairness reflects the aspect of evading partiality through ensuring adherence and conformance to the set-up standards for creating accountability. PART 2: Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work
As stated in part 1 of the assignment it takes honesty, fairness, and accountability to maintain academic integrity and ethics. They are strategies that will be pursued to help maintain integrity and ethics while being a student in the MSN program and with the profession as an RN. Honesty will help maintain a healthy relationship between the student and the professor. Honesty also helps in the profession of an RN; it helps the nurse and patient establish good rapport. Fairness will play its role when it comes to ethics. Ethics is an important part of being professional and maintaining integrity while in pursuit for a MSN. Accountability is a strategy to help the student with responsibility to do coursework required to be successful.

Step 2: Summary of Analysis
To identify peer-reviewed research, I first check the catalogue of digital libraries for the topic of interest, in this particular case, fall prevention. The next step entails skimming through select studies and checking if they are peer-reviewed. Peer-reviewed papers typically inform readers that they are peer-reviewed on the title page alongside the submission and acceptance date. After confirming that a paper is peer-reviewed, I check its organization to ascertain it has an abstract, literature review, methodology, results, conclusion, and reference list sections. Only after confirming that a paper meets these parameters do I consider it useable in my academic work.
To find peer-reviewed research, I utilize journals that I am aware publish only peer-reviewed papers. Such journals include Journal of Advanced Nursing, American Journal of Nursing, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Journal of the American Medical Directors Association, and Journal of Clinical Nursing. These journals publish peer-reviewed papers to ensure they provide quality information to readers and to safeguard their reputation. As such, they are a safe bet regarding finding peer-reviewed research. Another strategy I employ to find peer-reviewed research is by using studies in the reference lists of other peer-reviewed papers. In terms of resources I intend to use in the future to find peer-reviewed research, the Walden University database, Google Scholar, and online databases such as JSTOR, ScienceDirect, and Wiley Online are valuable tools.
