In early allergic exposure, the pathophysiologic reaction responds immediately after the allergen is exposed to the body\’s immune system, and inflammatory mediators that comprise significant quantities of histamine are directly released from mast cells on the mucosal surfaces. Also, histamine causes rapid bronchospasm and bronchoconstriction. This narrows the bronchioles in the case of an allergic patient. Cetrizine is a medication that can be used to treat this condition. Cetirizine, an antihistamine medication, is a metabolite of hydroxyzine. Its key effects are mediated by selective activation of intrinsic H1 receptors. The antihistamine function of cetirizine has been indicated in a number of human and animal models (Nagvi and Gerriets, 2019). In vivo as well as ex vivo animal approaches demonstrated antiserotonergic and anticholinergic effects. Even so, in clinical trials, dry breath was identified to be more common with cetirizine more than a placebo.
