Specialization in family nurse practitioner is on the rise as more nurses opt to specialize in specific fields. A nurse navigator is a specialized field in healthcare to assist patients in navigating smoothly and making informed decisions on their health. Their primary purpose is to provide more insight on the different treatment options, especially in cancer patients (McMurray & Cooper, 2017). Nurse navigators assist patients to navigate through various healthcare professionals. A nurse navigator is a nurse whose experience is based on helping patients make the right decision concerning their health (Byrne et al., 2020). This trend will improve the quality of services that the family nurse practitioner gives to the patient.

Music therapy has been on the rise over the past few years as a way of nursing intervention. A musical intervention involves playing instruments like guitar, violin and listening to melodies as a group to reduce stress, improve anxiety, reduce pain, and improve Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Music therapy assists patients in coping with emotional trauma and feeling happier and more confident (Gallagher et al., 2018). This trend is inexpensive, and Family nurse practitioners can use this type of treatment anywhere without carrying too much equipment.

Digitalized trends like Telehealth have created a significant impact in improving the health of the patients. The use of this technology helps nurses gain quick access to patients through remote monitoring, consultations, and other electronic consultations (Tuckson et al., 2017). Digitalized health helps promote patient care and wellness checks while accessing patient records remotely, hence improving patient care quality (Dorsey et al., 2016). All these trends ensure that patients are provided quality services through minimizing medical errors while creating a trustworthy relationship between the family nurse practitioner and the patients.
