Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities Assignment

I added a picture of the description of the assignment below. My capstone project is on ways to reduce nursing burnout.

The healthcare sector and individuals’ healthcare needs are evolving rapidly. As a result, master-prepared nurses are equipped with the skills, competencies, and knowledge needed to meet diverse healthcare needs. Masters-prepared nursing students acquire essential knowledge and skills through the nine Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing. This discussion focuses on how essential 1, “Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities”, and the nursing education practicum project have prepared me to meet the growing healthcare needs of diverse patient populations in the future. Essential 1, “Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities”, has prepared me for my future role as an advanced practitioner registered nurse (APRN) in the first-evolving and highly diversified healthcare sector. Essential one ensures master ‘s-prepared nurses gain competencies throughout their nursing programs through a deep understanding of significant nursing concepts and the related sciences required in designing, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care (AACN, 2011). Master’s-prepared nursing students continuously improve nursing care in different settings through findings collected from various disciplines, including sciences and the humanities, genetics, biopsychosocial fields, public health, health economics, quality improvement, organizational science, and translational science (AACN, 2011). Nursing care provided by masters-prepared nurses demonstrates a deeper understanding of problem identification, assessment, design of interventions, and evaluation of treatment outcomes. Therefore, as an APRN, I will use the knowledge and skills acquired throughout my master’s nursing program to build a strong and effective foundation in problem identification, health assessment, pharmacology, and treatment evaluation, providing high-quality and safe care to diverse patient populations. Additionally, my nursing education practicum project has significantly prepared me to meet the diverse healthcare needs of my patients as an APRN. My capstone project focuses on the reduction of nursing burnout. According to Leo et al. (2021), nursing burnout is a significant challenge facing various healthcare organizations. Among nurses, burnout is associated with a high workload due to nurse staffing shortages. Nursing burnout compromises the quality and safety of patient care in clinical settings (Jun et al., 2021). Therefore, as an APRN, I will use the knowledge and skills acquired while completing my capstone project to formulate and implement effective EBP strategies for addressing nurses’ burnout in clinical settings. Consequently, nurses’ job performance and ability to provide safe, quality, and effective care will be improved, enabling them to meet the healthcare needs of a highly diversified patient population. Lastly, providing direct patient care during my practicum experience has prepared me for my future APRN role. Throughout the practicum experience, I worked closely with my preceptor to assess, diagnose, and manage treatment for patients with diverse health issues. Thus, the practicum experience enhanced my knowledge and skills. Additionally, it familiarized me with trends in the healthcare sector and diverse patient populations. Therefore, I will effectively meet the healthcare needs of diverse patients through the knowledge and competence acquired during the practicum experience.
